PANJIM: With the delay continuing in the demolition of structures posing danger to aviation safety, the High Court of Bombay at Goa has said that illegal constructions cannot be regularised by invoking human considerations.
Dismissing an application filed by 44 occupants of alleged illegal structures at Chicalim, the Bench observed, “Patently unauthorised illegal constructions put up in defiance of the law cannot be regularised by invoking human considerations.”
The matter on the regularisation of these structures is also expected to be heard before the Director of Panchayats on May 6.
Last week the high court had asked the Additional Director of Panchayats – II South Goa to submit an explanation within five days on staying the demolition order of 45 illegal structures issued by the local village panchayat.
