PANJIM: The North Goa Collector has issued a stop work order in regard to illegal hill cutting at Morjim in Pernem taluka.
The notice has been issued after the Flying Squad of the Collector prima facie observed that the activity is in violation of provision of Sec 17-A of the TCP Act 1974 and other regulations. The team inspected the property bearing Survey No. 196/1A at New Wada, Morjim, and reported that hill cutting has been carried out in an area measuring about 35.00×8.0x1.5mts and development of mud roads by cutting of hill measuring height of 1.5 mts and for length of 184.00 mts. The deputy collector has asked those involved in the violation to stop the work and directed restoration of the land within three days.
