MAPUSA: The strike by the tourist taxi operators on day-two had minimal impact as buses and black and yellow taxis and rent-a-bike operators rose to the occasion to help tourists reach their destination.
Since no bus arrangement was made at the Thivim railway station, tourists hired more of scooters than four wheelers to reach their destinations.
In fact the strike was an opportunity for some private vehicle owners, who ferried tourists and locals to their destinations thereby earned some extra money for the month.
Many interstate vehicles that would otherwise not be allowed on beaches, were seen parked on the beaches in the north coastal belt.
Police personnel deployed at major junctions, bus stands and railway stations helped the tourist in getting transport to reach at their destinations.
