MARGAO: “Dont mix politics and religion, padris do mix, maulanas do, RSS does and BJP does, may it be Mopa and any other issue,” writer Datta Damodar Naik said on Friday. “If you want to do politics leave religious practice because as it is after 50 years the world will be atheist, write it down, mark my words,” Naik added.
After 50 years temples, churches and masjids will turn into museums, he said and mentioned that time will absorb and digest the BJP, Modi, RSS and VHP.
Naik was speaking at the release of his book, ‘Eka Naastikaacho Devaaro’ published by Sanjana Publications and Fountainhead Trust on Friday.
The book was released at the hands of Writer Yeshwant Manohar, Vasant Karapurkar, Dinesh Manerkar, Vinod Shetya and Datta Naik.
Naik, a Sahitya Academy Award winner, presented some of the first copies of the books to the daughter of late Madhavi Sardessai, Nanu Naik and Chandrakant Keni for being his inspiration for the book. The book is described as ‘a mind speak of a non believer of God and holy practices.’
Key note speaker Yeshwant Manohar said that the stand the writer has taken is one which will show light to the world when we will be pushed to darkness in the future. “Neither a Hindu Rashtra, Muslim Rashtra nor Catholic Rashtra will help to a better India. Only the principles of religious unity and upholding the Indian Constitution will take the country ahead” said Manohar.
25,000 copies of the book will be distributed at Rs 10 per book by Andhashraddha Nirmulan Sangathna in Maharashtra.
Fountainhead Trust will celebrate the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar this year as a part of national celebration.
