India to Outperform Govt Growth Target at 7.6%: Morgan Stanley

India’s economic growth is expected to exceed the National Statistical Office’s (NSO) first advance estimate, supported by strong high-frequency indicators seen since September 2025, according to a Morgan Stanley report. The global investment bank has projected real GDP growth at 7.6 per cent year-on-year for FY2026, higher than the NSO’s estimate of 7.4 per cent. The report attributed the stronger outlook to combined fiscal and monetary policy support, improving purchasing power, and a better labour market outlook, which are likely to support a broader consumption recovery. It also expects a more widespread pickup in capital expenditure as rising investor confidence boosts private investment. Domestic demand is expected to remain the primary growth driver amid global uncertainty linked to tariffs and geopolitics. S
