Inmates out of station, burglars make merry at Sarzora

Beware, ensure that you don’t keep money and valuables in the house while you are out. For, you may be the next target of the burglars on the prowl as happened to the Furtado family at Sarzora Wednesday night.
In a daring burglary, unknown culprits barged inside the house of Cedric Furtado when the inmates were out on a holiday in South India.
Cuncolim police said the miscreants barged inside the house by breaking the latch hook of the main door. Once inside, the miscreants ransacked all the four bedrooms for the booty and finally managed to lift away around 1500 US dollars, approximately Rs 69,000.
It is not known whether the culprits have managed to lay their hands on any gold ornaments and the question will be answered only when the family members returns home.
After the incident came to light, the Cuncolim police immediately pressed into service a sniffer dog, but could not obtain any clues so far.
The Cuncolim police has registered a case under 380 of the IPC. Further investigations are on.
