MAPUSA: Aldona MLA Glenn Ticlo along with Deputy Town Planner Prakash Bandodkar conducted site inspection at Ucassaim after TCP received complaint of illegal hill cutting and construction of approach road.

The inspection revealed that hill was illegally cut for development purpose as well as approach road was constructed with tar in area of 4,567 sq mts in survey number 96/8 of Taliwada, Ucassaim.
Deputy Town Planner Prakash Bandokar informed that under Section 17 A of Town and Country Planning Act, cutting of hilly or sloppy land, filling of land and executing construction is prohibited with penalty of fine of Rs 10 lakh or imprisonment of one year or both.
“Illegal hill cutting and development is carried out by the concerned party. In this regard, a FIR will be filed at police station for cutting of hill and development. Also the local panchayat will take action for carrying out works without prior permission,” Bandodkar said.
MLA Ticlo said, “In 2017, a complaint was filed regarding this same hill cutting and matter is with the Deputy Collector Bardez. However, recently it came to light that approach road is constructed to reach the site. This work carried out is illegal and action will be taken.”
