IPB clears 13 projects, mainly expansions

PANJIM: The Investment Promotion Board (IPB) cleared 13 projects on Friday during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
Minutes before the meeting, Sawant, who has taken special interest in ensuring that IPB will be a single-window clearance system for investors and industrialists, speaking to Herald said, “The screening committee of the IPB has already given the proposals, and we will discuss them. We are trying our maximum to clear all projects keeping environment hazards in mind. Surely they will get approval within 30 days, which we have promised, if all is clear.”
Sources in the IPB said, “We cleared about 13 projects barring one which was withdrawn, two had issues with legalities pertaining to environmental clearances. The projects cleared, were mainly expansion projects like Unichem, Crompton Greeves, MRF, Telecom, etc. Also there are a couple of new ones.”
