Income Tax (IT) officials on Thursday conducted a raid at the residence of Roshan Redkar, the disqualified sarpanch of Arpora Nagoa, who is currently in police custody in connection with the Birch fire tragedy.
Simultaneously, a joint team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax department carried out searches at the residences of former panchayat secretary Raghuvir Bagkar. Both Redkar and Bagkar are among those allegedly accused in the case linked to the deadly fire at the Birch establishment.
Sources said the raids are aimed at tracing a money trail and establishing possible financial links between the accused and the Luthra brothers. Officials are examining documents, electronic records, and financial transactions as part of the ongoing investigation.
The search operations began earlier this morning and were still underway at the time of filing this report. Further details are expected as the probe progresses.
