PERNEM: A Mahindra Thar was gutted in fire at Hasapur, Pernem on Tuesday. According to its owner the vehicle was set on fire by unknown persons.
Pernem police received a call at 12.20 midnight, informing that a vehicle was on fire. Immediately, a team of Pernem fire personnel and Pernem police rushed to the spot. However, before Pernem fire team could put out the fire, the vehicles was already destroyed.

The vehicle owner Viresh Borkar, a resident of Neura in Tisawdi, filed a complaint at Pernem police station against an unknown person for allegedly setting the vehicle on fire.
It is learnt that Viresh Borkar is member of NGO Revolutionary Goans and his friend Alex D’Souza had borrowed the vehicle for his use; when it was allegedly set on fire, the vehicle was out of order.
