CURCHOREM: Curchorem police on Sunday arrested Lalgit Jhora (21), resident of Periudok-Sanvordem and a native of Jharkhand, for murdering Sanju Jhora (21) also from Jharkand.
According to Investigating Officer PI Ravindra Dessai, the sister of the deceased complaint to the police that her brother was assaulted with a stone after some quarrel and admitted at Kakoda Upgraded Primary Health Centre and accordingly complaint was lodged under Section 307 of IPC and the accused was arrested.
“The deceased was shifted to Hospicio Hospital at Margao from there he was taken to Goa Medical College, Bambolim where he breathed his last. So the offence which was initially registered under Section 307 IPC was later converted to Section 302 IPC after the death of Sanju,” PI Dessai said and informed that the accused would be produced before JMFC for remand.
