MARGAO: The Judicial Magistrate First Class Margao has remanded Jharkhand native Sumit Singh to 14 days judicial custody in connection with the theft of a mobile phone. He is lodged in Colvale jail.
KR Police said Ravishankar Sahu from Jharkhand in his complaint stated that on December 14 late evening Sumit committed theft of his mobile worth Rs 20,000 near the waiting room of Margao Railway Station. Police said Sumit was arrested and the stolen mobile was recovered.
Meanwhile, JMFC Margao remanded Mohamed Aslam from UP to four days police custody in another mobile theft case reported at the KR Platform, Margao. The stolen mobile has been recovered from Aslam, police said.
KR Police said Prashant Chauhan from Madhya Pradesh in his complaint stated that his mobile was stolen from the KR Station at Margao.
During the course of investigation, police arrested Aslam and recovered the stolen mobile worth Rs 69,000. Based on a complaint an offence under Section 379 of IPC has been registered against Aslam.
