Canacona Police based on the complaint lodged by Sonia’s mother Amelia Pires, had registered an offence under Section 302 of the IPC and Section 25 r/w Section 3 of the Arms Act. The accused after committing the murder surrendered before Canacona Police on Saturday night.
Canacona Police said the accused was arrested after he confessed to the murder.
The police team visited the crime scene spot with the help of the forensic team and gathered evidence. The police conducted the panchanama in presence of two witnesses and seized the weapon.
