JMFC moved against minister Naik

Panjim: Generation Next has moved the JMFC Court in Panjim against the State Industries Minister Mahadev Naik for his alleged misappropriation of funds in government’s housing loan for legislators.

Addressing the media in Panjim, Generation Next President Durgadas Kamat said, “We have already registered a case against Industries Minister Mahadev Naik in JMFC Court on August 13.” He further said, “All the parties who are involved in the matter will be sent notices soon. Government will get notice.”
Previously the same organisation had filed a complaint with Porvorim Police Station last month, seeking registration of First Information Report (FIR) against the minister.
State Industries Minister and Shiroda MLA Mahadev Naik was accused of committing fraud by taking government loan of Rs 30 lakh by virtue of his position as legislator, for housing purpose, but subsequently utilised the same amount for commercial property in Ponda.
In a meantime, Durgadas also appealed to the all the anti-casino organisations in Goa to come under one banner. “I appeal to all the organisations that are against casinos in Goa to come under one banner and send these casinos to off-shore, that is, into the deep sea.”
He demanded to shift the off-shore casinos from Mandovi into the deep sea and subsequently urged not to renew the current licenses and prohibit new licenses to operate casinos in Goa.
