Joseph, Agnelo pledge support to each other

Come together to take on BJP in Calangute and Saligao

PANJIM: There are no permanent friends or foes in politics, and this was proved when after being at logger-heads for over a decade, friends-turned-foes Joseph Sequeira and Agnelo Fernandes have become friends again.
Now under the Congress banner, both have a common enemy in BJP’s Calangute candidate Michael Lobo and Saligao candidate Dilip Parulekar.
Though Fernandes a two-time ex-MLA from the constituency has been denied a ticket from Calangute, the party has accommodated him in Saligao and the duo has pledged to support to each other.
Addressing the media, GPCC secretary and Saligao INC candidate Fernandes said he has offered unconditional support to Sequeira in Calangute. “Being an ex-MLA I have good amount of support in the constituency and I will transfer all my votes to Joseph,” he said.
He said that BJP is their common enemy and they would do their best to defeat the party.
Returning the compliment, Sequeira said he too has a good base in Saligao and his supporters would work hard to get Fernandes elected. “We have had differences for years but now we have sorted that out and will work for the good of the people,” Sequeira stated.
