Karwar man held for theft

BICHOLIM, MARCH 24
A 28-year-old man from Karwar was arrested in connection with the theft of a truck from Vagus-Bicholim.
According to Bicholim police, Ajay C Desai was arrested in the wee hours of Wednesday while he was trying to run away with a truck (KA-22-A-7880) parked at Vagus-Pale.
On the way, the truck rammed against another oncoming truck (GA-02-Z-9755).
In the accident, the other truck turned turtle, while the truck driven by the accused went into the nearby ditch.
Some persons, who were present at the site, caught Ajay and after giving him a beating handed him over to the police. Ajay was arrested under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code.
