MARGAO, SEPT 26
Blaming politicians for the mess in the Kashmir valley, world spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has said that the Kashmir imbroglio should be resolved taking into account the humanitarian angle.
“I would soon speak to the leaders towards settlement of the Kashmir problem”, he said, during an interactive session with the students at the Ravindra Bhavan here on Sunday morning.
Incidentally, he received a call from the authorities in Kashmir to counsel the prisoners as and when they are released from prison.
Replying to a question, he said that Art of Living signifies a happy society, a violence free society, a society where there’s freedom from confusion, trauma and sorrow.
When he was asked what parents should do to get children on the right path, Sri Sri said “do every thing what they like to do with them”, and after coming down from the dais into the auditorium, said “This is the right path and get close to them make them happy”.
When a student sought to know what he should do as his parents don’t want him to join the Art of Living, the spiritual leader said “well, the concern is that your studies should not get affected. So convince her that you will not compromise on your studies. Have a balanced job that you will do this but not at the cost of the studies”.
When he was asked about the State of the nation considering the way the Commonwealth Games are being organised, he asked “is it really a common wealth. It’s the commoners’ wealth for the games. Common wealth is in the hands of the few and they think it’s a game, it’s certainly a shame. Shame on our country”.
