Kavlekar has to clear his name says Reginaldo

PANJIM: Stating the party high command has to take a call on the issue, Congress’ MLA  ALexio Reginald Lourenco has asked Opposition leader Babu Kavlekar to come clear on the allegations that he is one of the beneficiaries  of the 16B amendment of TCP Act.
“The Congress party has been opposing the amendment and the Leader of Opposition himself being involved does not augur well for the party,” said Curtorim MLA Alexio Reginald Lourenco reacting to the Herald expose.
Reginald said that the Leader of Opposition has to reply and clear his name.
“He can’t have involvement, the state and country is looking at leaders, who is above board. It is my view he should stay away from these types of things,” the outspoken Congress MLA said.
Reginald further said that if Kavlekar fails to reply the party president and high command has to take a call
“We are on threshold on forming a Congress government in Goa and LoP being involved in such thing is not accepted. We have to stay away from controversies. We have to win people’s trust,” he said.
As per details provided by the TCP, two politicians name figure in the list of 23 approved beneficiaries – Pandurang Dhavalikar and Babu Kavlekar.
Vrushal Estate and Development Pvt Ltd has got principal approval for change in zone from paddy field to Commercial zone for his land admeasuring 3588 sq meters at Chaudi Canacona.
Interestingly Babu Kavlekar and his wife Savitri Kavlekar are directors in the company.
