MAPUSA: Anjuna Police on Thursday arrested one Muhammad Ajmal, aged 24 years, presently residing at Coconut Palms, Chapora and native of Kozhikode, Kerala for illegally possessing 200 grams of narcotic substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 20,000.
According to the police, a team consisting of Police Sub-Inspector Sujay Korgaonkar, Head Constable Shyamsundar Parsekar, Police Constable Rajesh Gorkhankar, Avir Kalangutkar, Raj Parab, Mayur Ghadi and Sachin Salgaonkar conducted the raid in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday near Fountain, Gumalwado-Anjuna and caught the accused person for illegally possessing 200 grams of narcotic substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 20,000 along with cash of Rs 450 and a Samsung mobile phone, which was found in the dickey of his scooter.
The police have booked an offence under Section 20(B) Ii)(A)of NDPS Act.
