CANACONA: Residents of Agonda have cried foul over the absence of key officers at the two-day ‘Administration at the door steps’ camp at Agonda panchayat office.
“No key officer visited the panchcyat office, as issuance of several certificates was kept pending due to non-availability of officers concerned,” said a resident.
Another resident complained that “people were kept waiting till 5.30 pm on Saturday hoping that at-least Canacona Mamlatdar would come and sign the required papers.”
When contacted, Sarpanch Navneeta Naik Gaonkar admitted that neither Mamlatdar Ravishekhar Nippanikar, who had to urgently attend meeting with the Collector, nor Canacona BDO, who is indisposed with sickness, visited the panchayat office, even though most staff was present.
“Although there were not many people, whoever came could not be issued any document for the day, as the staff kept on informing that the Mamlatdar will reach the panchayat office,” said the sarpanch.
According to panchayat sources, on the first day (Friday), Mamlatdar Nippanikar and other officers (Agriculture and Animal Husbandary), besides other staff were present except for Deputy Collector Sudhin Natu who is away for a training session, and most residents got their work done online, while others were provided information about various schemes and government subsidies.
The government had assured administration at the door step of Agonda residents with taluka’s entire administrative team at the panchayat office for two days on Friday and Saturday, and residents could avail of online facilities of residence certificate, caste certificate, affidavits, income certificate, election rolls – entries/corrections/changes, disability certificate, Forms I & IV, senior citizens cards facilitation, ration card – additions/corrections, etc, divergence certificate, etc.
