MARGAO: An assault case in Khareband turned out to be a property dispute that went vicious. The attack was hotly discussed in Margao and also went abuzz on social media.

A person from Varca was assaulted with a sharp object at Pedda in Kharebandh. In retaliation, the person who was assaulted got into a fist fight. With blows exchanged amidst shouting and abusing each other people gathered around the fighting duo representing a ‘fight to finish’ in a movie.
The videos that surfaced showed both the persons suffering injuries. The person, who was travelling in a car, said that he was assaulted by persons on a two-wheeler.
In the end it was discovered that the assault was over a property matter. However, another person also received cut injuries on his elbow which, he said, was a result of the assault.
Surprisingly, this was a property dispute that had turned violent and both the parties settled the case amicably with their advocates asking the police not to register a case after reaching a compromise.
This case, however, created a lot of social media buzz and tension around Kharebandh.
