Khaunte also appealed to the Goan public at large to follow COVID protocols for their and the benefit of fellow Goans.

The former minister also took pot-shots at the government’s handling of the appointment of the State Election Commissioner in light of the recent order by the Supreme Court where strictures were passed against the State.

“BJP Goa seems to be adopting ‘jhumlas’ in administration too as is evident from the hurried posting of a junior officer as SEC who prudently denied the posting. There is total administrative failure in the government due to the election ‘jhumlas’ of the BJP,” he said.

Calling the entire matter a shame on democracy, Khaunte criticised the BJP’s High Command as well for being silent on the issue.
