A 27-year-old youth from Ganganagar, Khorlim-Mapusa was arrested at Mulgao on Monday evening in connection with drug peddling, after Bicholim police seized ganja worth Rs 25,000 from him.
Acting on a tip-off, a Bicholim police team led by PI Braz Menezes rushed to Mulgao and intercepted a bus. They then detained Shekhar Purappa Naik, a native of Gadag-Karnataka, who was traveling on the bus, and seized 1.95 kilos of ganja in 172 packets.
Shekhar was later arrested under the Narcotic Drug Act and the Bicholim JMFC has remanded him to seven days police custody.
