According to reports, three girls of Std VI had left for school in the morning and two of them had told the third girl to proceed ahead as they had some work.
When the two girls did not reach the school, their friend became concerned and reported the matter to the class teacher, who in turn, alerted the parents of the two girls.
Rumours then floated that the two girls had been kidnapped and the Aldona Police Outpost were notified. A police team went to the school to investigate the matter, as news of the incident spread like wildfire across Corjuem.
Since a missing complaint is lodged only 24 hours after the missing person/s are last seen, no complaint was registered with the police.
The matter was later resolved much to the relief of family members and the school, when the missing girls returned to their respective homes in the afternoon.
The two girls later revealed that they had not done their homework and had bunked classes to escape punishment.
