PONDA: Kirlapal-Dabal Sarpanch Ramnath Pavaskar was on Wednesday voted out of office in a no-confidence motion.
The no-confidence motion, which came up for discussion at a special meeting was passed by 5 votes to 4. Large posse of police personnel was deputed in the panchayat area to prevent any untoward incident; however, the meeting was held peacefully.
Deputy Sarpanch Vasanti Gaonkar, Umesh Gaonkar, Sarita Gaonkar, Kalidas Gaonkar and Ramakant Gaonkar voted in favour of the no-confidence motion, while outgoing sarpanch Ramnath Pavaskar, Hanumanth Gaonkar, Sandesh Gaonkar and Tanuja Samant voted against the motion.
