‘Kizil Nastana’ focuses on family conflicts

Panjim: ‘Kizil Nastana’, a tiatr written and directed by Salvador Alfonso and presented by Sao Jose Areal Two Cross Gymnasium Sport Club is all about conflicts in the family.

Simran (Valanky Fernandes) seeks financial assistance from her retired father Salu (Salvador Alfonso) to pursue further studies. He assures that her elder brother Sydney (Sheldon D’Costa) will not hesitate to help.
Initially, Sydney volunteers to help his only sister, but his selfish wife Saroja (Nacia Alfonso) intervenes and poisons his mind. Over a period of time, Sydney realises his folly and decides to support his father and sister.
Instantly, Saroja takes a drastic step and decides to leave her husband’s residence and return home. Will Saroja accept her wrongdoing and mend her ways? Will she dare to patch up with her husband and in-laws? Who steps in to bring reconciliation and peace in the house?
‘Kizil Nastana’ is a flat and simple story, with prime focus on misunderstandings and conflicts often seen among members of a family. But the script lacked depth and fell short of a climax.
Much time was wasted in between the acts, exposing the poor implementation of stage sets and light effects.
Salvador looked comfortable as the head of the family. Sheldon and Valanky as siblings delivered quite confidently. Nacia Alfonso was in command in the negative role. But Azmer Vales as Nacia’s father expected better make-up as he looked much younger in appearance and stature.
Joesan, Sanyo and Valencia Marques teamed as the comical trio, but failed to infuse laughter among the audience.
In the presentation of songs, a choral by Valencia and Nacia, a duet by Joesan and Sanyo, solos by Valanky, Queiter Xavier and Joesan and a trio by Sydney, Salvador and Nacia were appealing to the ears.
