PANJIM: Porvorim Police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man from Kolhapur for dealing in narcotics. Porvorim Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi said Pradip Narayan Mhetar originally from Radhanagari taluka of Kolhapur was found in possession of 1.65 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.66 lakh at Porvorim.
Based on information a trap was laid and the accused intercepted in Porvorim.
“The accused was caught red-handed while he had come to deliver the drugs to the customer,” Dalvi said. He has been booked under various sections of the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
“This is the seventh case related to narcotics during the current year booked in Porvorim,” Dalvi said.
