In a dedicated effort to enhance passenger convenience, Konkan Railway has introduced a Battery-Operated Car service at the Margao railway station, aiming to provide a more comfortable travel experience for passengers. The official inauguration of the service was conducted by Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, Director (Operations & Commercial), on Platform No. 1 of the station. Passengers looking to avail themselves of this service can do so by contacting the station’s designated mobile phone number, 9561612135, with a service charge of Rs 50 per passenger. Digital payments are accepted for added convenience.
This initiative prioritizes specific passenger groups such as senior citizens, physically challenged individuals, pregnant women, and those with medical conditions. It offers advanced booking for these passengers on a priority basis, while others without reservations can access the service on a ‘first-come, first-serve’ basis. The introduction of the Battery-Operated Car service is a significant step to complement existing services like Shravan and Sarathi Seva, collectively contributing to an improved and seamless travel experience at the Margao Railway station.
