MARGAO: Refuting the claims of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that people are entering the State through goods/parcel trains, the Konkan Railway said that corporation is maintaining a strict vigil on the unauthorised travel in its trains.
In the wake of COVID-19, KRC clarified that it is strictly following the guidelines laid out by MHA and the Ministry of Railways with regards to transportation of essential commodities through goods/parcel trains.
Konkan Railway has instructed the station staff and guards and loco pilots of these trains to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the ministry and to observe that no unauthorised travel takes place. These parcel trains are being escorted by RPF personnel to prevent unauthorised travel.
Besides administrative measures, Konkan Railway has posted RPF personnel at the stations where these trains halt to prevent unauthorised travel.
It may be recalled that the AAP claimed that there were enough reports of large numbers of people boarding goods trains operating on the KR route and entering into Goa, who leave alone quarantine, were not even subjected to a basic thermal scanner, but were dispersing unnoticed in Goa.
