MARGAO: Passengers travelling in Kadamba buses need to be alert, as incidents of tickets issued at the counter without the correct date and time have been reported. If not, it can lead to fine from the ticket checker.

Margao KTC officials have also admitted the error and have assured to rectify the same.
It is pertinent to note that hundreds of passengers travel to Panjim and other locations from the Margao Bus Stand in Kadamba buses. However, passengers are shocked that they have been issued tickets with the wrong date and time.
Speaking to Herald Ryan Furtado, a passenger, who travels to Panjim for work on a regular basis, said the person at the counter is least bothered to issue the tickets with correct date and time.
“Many times passengers move into the buses in a haste without checking the date and time on the ticket issued to them. We have witnessed ticket checkers imposing fines on the passengers due to the wrong tickets”, he said.
Taking serious note of the same GOACAN has called upon the passengers travelling in KTC buses departing from Margao bus stand to be alert, and check the tickets issued to them.
“It has been brought to our notice that several ticket machines are old. The date and time of the ticket issued could be of the previous day, as it can result in imposing a fine on the passenger by the ticket checker”, said Roland Martins, GOACAN convenor.
He informed that Girish Gaude, Depot Manager of KTCL, Margao has confirmed that the ticket issuing machines are having a problem.
“We have decided to take up the matter with Transport Director Rajan Satardekar for his intervention to get KTC to issue new machines from Margao, as being used in Panjim”, he added.
