Addressing the media, Goa Convention of Workers Convenor Suhas Naik stated the strike is to protest the sweeping changes the government has proposed to the existing labour laws which will push the working people out of the coverage of these labour legislations.

PANJIM: All trade unions and employee associations under the banner of Goa Convention of Workers have decided to participate in the nationwide strike on September 2 called to press for their 12 point charter of demands and against anti-labour and anti-people government policies.
