MARGAO: Landowners in Raia and Nuvem villages have been put on official notice about a potential land acquisition for a major water infrastructure project. The PWD Office of the Executive Engineer (EE), Works Division XII (PHE-SWSP) in Sanguem has issued a public notice calling for a comprehensive survey of properties along the proposed 160 MLD Salaulim water supply project.
According to the notice, the survey will focus on “acquired Government boundaries in the properties for Land Acquisition of laying pipeline & services road” in Salcete Taluka, covering a stretch from chainage 29340 to 33030 meters on Survey No. 307/62 of Nuvem Village.
The department will conduct the survey with assistance from the survey department from December 9 to 13, starting at 10:30 am each day.
“Notice is given to all adjoining holders/interested parties to remain present during the survey proceeding,” the notice states. It further warns that “if you fail to attend in person or by duly authorized agent in pursuance of this notice the survey work will be carried in your absence.”
