VALPOI: Laxmi Harwalkar has been elected unopposed as the sarpanch of Nagargao panchayat.
The post of the sarpanch had been vacant since past few days following the resignation of then sarpanch Parag Khadilkar. Rajesh Dalvi was appointed as a presiding officer for the election.
Deputy Sarpanch Samiksha Salelkar, panch members Prashant Marathe, Parag Khadilkar, Laxman Gawas, Ramu Kharwat, Gopiki Gaonkar were present for the election.
After taking charge, Laxmi said she would carry out development works in her panchayat and also assured that her members are committed to the welfare of all wards under the panchayat.
