PERNEM: A leopard was found dead on the railway track in Pernem on Monday night.
The locals spotted the leopard’s body on the railway track and informed that Pernem Forest Department, who visited the site and conducted the panchanama. The officials later handed over the dead leopard to the Tuem Forest Department.Locals claim that leopards have been entering the villages of Pernem.
and have complained that these “big cats” are seen near Pernem ITI at night. Last year, a tiger had killed a cow.
