Leopard rescued

VALPOI: Valpoi Forest Department officials, on Wednesday night, rescued a leopard, which was fallen in a deep village well at Thane Village, in Sattari.

VALPOI: Valpoi Forest Department officials, on Wednesday night, rescued a leopard, which was fallen in a deep village well at Thane Village, in Sattari.
According to villagers the leopard had fallen in the well two days ago. “On observing the animal one could make out the health condition is not very good. We had seen it on Tuesday night and immediately informed the Round Forest Officer. The forest officers came and rescued the leopard from the well.
“We have rescued a leopard from a deep well, very safely. Now we will check his health condition, as it looks very sick. After assessing its health condition we will release him in the wildlife sanctuary where it will be safe,” says Jefri D’silva, RFO Sattari Taluka.
