PANJIM: The pre-bid conference for water patrol and lifeguard service bidders has been scheduled tomorrow with five agencies vying for the key task of saving tourists from drowning along Goa’s coastline.
The pre-bid conference which was scheduled last week had been postponed to the end of October (tomorrow).
It appears that the appointment of an agency which was expected to have been finalised by early November could be delayed further as no final dates have been fixed for submission of bids and opening of tenders.
The Drishti Special Response Services would be directed to continue with its contract for another month.
There is no clarity from the tourism ministry as to why the tendering process for appointment of a new agency for the water patrol and lifeguard services is delayed even as initial plans were to have an agency in place in June this year.
