VASCO: A linesman suffered serious injuries following an electric shock while repairing a transformer at Baina.
According to information, the power dept had shut down a low tension line to carryout repairs of a transformer near Sanjeevani Hospital.
“We had taken due precautions and had shut down the low tension line on which linesman Sagar Parsekar of Mangor Hill, was attempting the repair work. The live high-tension wires caused a spark due to bird movement and a live wire broke and fell on the line on which Parsekar was working. Parsekar received a shock and fell from the transformer.”
He was shifted to Sanjeevani Hospital, from where he was referred to GMC, Bambolim. His condition is stable after receiving medial aid,” said an electricity department official.
