PANJIM: In a major seizure of illegal liquor in the state ahead of polls, police have seized liquor worth around Rs 1.5 crores.
North Goa District Investigation Unit, led by SP North Chandan Choudhary raided three premises in Dhargal in Pernem and seized the illegal liquor. None of the premises had any excise license/permit to store or sell liquor.
As per information, based on specific intelligence about illegal storage of liquor in huge quantity, police raided the premises on Wednesday morning at around 11.30 am. While Liquor worth around Rs 1 – 1.5 crore has been seized, however, the exact market valuation based on the panchanama, was still underway, at the time of publishing this report.
