CANACONA: Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 10 lakh was seized from a lorry proceeding to Andhra Pradesh in the wee hours of Tuesday by the Karnataka Excise officials.
In a similar case, a fish-laden insulated truck registered in Andhra Pradesh was intercepted by Karnataka Excise department officials at Mazali check post on the other side of Goa border at Polem in the wee hours of Tuesday carrying IMFL and beer worth about Rs 10 lakh in the Karnataka market.
R N Naik, Excise Sub Inspector deputed at Mazali check post said they received specific information that an Andhra Pradesh registered insulated truck was coming towards Mazali check post from Goa carrying contraband liquor.
