PANJIM: In a bid to ensure secrecy of votes, all the polling stations across 40 constituencies would be under webcasting and live streaming- the initiative which the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) had first introduced in the 2017 State Assembly elections.
There are total 1652 polling stations including 26 critical, 21 vulnerable and nine expenditure sensitive polling stations.
CEO IAS Kunal said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is very serious about maintaining secrecy of votes. At no point of time, the secrecy would be compromised, he said.
“To provide all necessary precautions, the polling stations would be under web casting. Also there would be live streaming in most of the cases,” he said.
Kunal said that special training is been given to the Presiding Officers on maintaining secrecy of votes cast by the voter. “If the Presiding Officer is found in violation of the rules, necessary action would be initiated,” he said.
