VALPOI: The villagers of Velus in Valpoi have urged the Water Resources Department to clear the vegetation and short trees that have grown in the local river to facilitate smooth flow of water.
The villagers said that vegetation and short trees have grown up in the local river, blocking the flow of water during monsoons, which lead to flooding of agriculture lands and destruction of crops. Besides, the villagers say, since some houses are located close to the river, they are also affected due to flooding.
