Locals demand driver for 108 ambulance at Sanguem PHC

SANGUEM: The Sanguem Block Congress President Messiah D’Costa and locals submitted a memorandum to the Health Officer of Government Primary Health Centre at Sanguem for immediate deployment of driver for 108 ambulance service on regular basis and also for the regular appointment of X-Ray Technician on regular basis at the Sanguem PHC.
The Sanguem PHC caters to the patients from all over Sanguem taluka. However, it lacks basic facilities and this deters the people from visiting the Sanguem PHC, informed D’Costa.
D’Costa informed that in a recent accident at Uguem, the PHC could not send the 108 to shift the patient to the Hospital for want of driver.
D’Costa informed that the PHC officials informed that the 108 ambulance was off road as it did not have a regular driver.
D’Costa further informed that the accidents does not happen on a particular day and time and as such demanded for immediate deployment of regular driver at the Health Centre to cater to the citizens needs at times of emergency.
D’Costa also expressed the need for deployment of X-Ray technician at Sanguem PHC for all days of the week. Presently, the X-Ray technician deputed at the Sanguem PHC visits the PHC on alternate day.
