PANJIM: Goa Lokayukta on Tuesday recorded the statement of Lady Police Sub Inspector Devyani Naik and Constable Chetan Morajkar in the sou moto inquiry in the alleged bribery matter in which former Deputy Inspector General of Police Vimal Anand Gupta is linked.
Sources said that both Naik and Morajkar were summoned on Tuesday for recording their statements and that Gupta would be summoned shortly.
It may be recalled that the Lokayukta had initiated sou moto inquiry into the allegation against Gupta for demanding bribe of Rs 40,000 from LPSI Devyani Naik to clear Departmental enquiry against her.
Government had relieved Gupta in December last year, following allegations of corruption against him after receiving the order from Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
