PANJIM: After heading the Department of Art and Culture for a decade and half under successive governments, Prasad Lolayekar has finally been relieved from the post. Lolayekar has been transferred as Director of Higher Education with immediate effect.
Similarly, former City Commissioner Deepak Desai, who was abruptly shunted out from the post last month and was awaiting a posting since then, has been appointed as the new Director of Women and Child Department.
The government on Tuesday undertook a bureaucratic reshuffle, wherein Lolayekar has been replaced by Gurudas Pilarnekar who will hold additional charge as Member Secretary of Goa Kala Academy. Lolayekar was holding this position too.
Director (Administration) Goa Medical College Sanjiv Gadkar has been replaced by Dattaram Sardesai, former Director of Public Grievances. Gadkar will now hold the position of Registrar of Cooperative Societies, which was earlier with Pilarnekar.
Levinson Martins has been retained as Director of Science and Technology with additional charge as Member Secretary of Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB).
Former Director of Women and Child Department, Ruhi Redkar, has been transferred as Chief Executive Officer, North Goa Zilla Panchayat, replacing Dashrath Redkar, who has been appointed as Additional Collector Sub District Bardez with additional charge of SLAO, Mopa Airport.
Shamsundar Parab is the new Director of NRI Affairs, with Melvyn Vaz appointed Secretary Goa State Election Commission. Narayan Prabhudessai, Custodian of Evacuee Property, is the new Superintendent of Central Jail, Colvale, which was earlier with Parab. He will, however, continue to hold additional charge as Custodian of Evacuee Property.
Chief Officer of Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Deepali Naik has been transferred as Joint Secretary (Protocol) replacing Sharmila Zuzarte, who is awaiting posting. She will hold additional charge as Director of Public Grievances. Naik has been replaced by Agenlo Fernandes, who was awaiting posting in the senior scale.
Siddhivinayak Naik has been relieved from the post of Inspector General of Prisons with appointment of Rajendra Mirajkar, who was earlier Additional Director of Panchayat II.
Surendra Naik has been transferred as Additional Director of Panchayat I, in place of Florina Colaco, who will now hold the post of Additional Director of Panchayat II. Naik was earlier Additional Collector sub district Bardez, where Dashrath Redkar has been appointed.
Darshan Narulkar has been transferred as General Manager DITC, replacing Pandharinath Naik, who has been appointed as CEO South Goa Zilla Panchayat. He will also hold additional charge as Member Secretary Ravindra Bhavan thereby relieving IAS officer Anjali Sherawat from the additional charge.
Secretary of Goa Rehabilitation Board Jayant Tari will hold additional charge as Director (Admin) Kala Academy, thereby relieving Parag Nagarcekar of additional charges.
All the officers will have to complete the process of taking over the new posts within three days, says the order issued by Shashank Thakur, Undersecretary (Personnel-I).
