PANJIM: In a rare
occasion of Valentine’s Day, two deaf and dumb couple, Terence Daniel and
Cressy Pinto got legally hitched on Tuesday after they became friends a year
ago.
Both the
bride and the groom were introduced by Daniel’s friend in Goa who is also
hearing impairment around a year ago on March 28, 2016 and after their first
meet daily conversations on social media brought them closer at last to this
beautiful Valentine’s Day which got them legally hitched.
Terence (33)
who was working as a fashion designer for a company known as Orchid in Mumbai
suddenly lost his job over company closure and thereafter is currently doing a
fashion related course in a reputed institute in the financial capital. While
Cressy Pinto (27) who was born in Chinchinim, Goa did her schooling from St
Xavier’s Academy School, Old Goa and is currently into stitching (Tailoring).
Speaking to
Herald, Terence Daneil said “Today is the happiest day of my life and what a
day to get legally married on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. I am really
excited as I have got the love of my life. Cressy was introduced to me by my
close friend here in Goa and thereafter we regularly started chatting on social
media and slowly started loving each other and finally we have made up to this
day”
Meanwhile,
Cressy pinto had to say this “I am really excited that I have got the love of
my life. This is the best day in my life that I have got a lover like Daniel.
It’s exactly one year since we met first and slowly from that moment we started
liking each other”
Though the
bride and groom could not hear the sound of the happiness being from their
close and dear ones neither could they express their emotions through words but
the amount of joy on their faces was inimitable.
“This is a
rare occasion that such a couple got hitched on the Valentine’s Day but before
three similar couples have got hitched but on such an occasion this is the
first” said Arjun Shetye, Civil Registrar-cum-Sub Registrar, Tisawadi
Finally both
lovers succeeded in fighting against all odds and were victorious in convincing
their dear ones. The wedding will take place in the month of May this year in
Goa.
Speaking to
Herald, the Groom’s father, Manuel Daniel said “Today I am happy that my son
has finally got the love of his life and I was always confident that my son
would archive something in his life and today one such thing has happened”
To conclude
with the groom’s word’s “Love happens only once the rest is just life”
