Low-key Dindi festival this year due to COVID-19 pandemic

MARGAO: Every year 100-year-old Dindi festival of Margao is celebrated with great pomp but this year it would be a low-key celebration on November 17 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the committee.

Suhas Kamat, president of Shree Hari Mandir Devasthan Committee said that this year’s 112 th famous Dindi festival, which will commence from November 11 would conclude on November 18. Main Dindi festival would be on November 17.

Kanat, in a press note, said that the committee has decided not to have  palki procession , sangeet baitakas fire work etc due to COVID-19 pandemic on the November 17. The temple will be kept open for darshan of Lord Vithal Rakumai.

During the festival days daily there would be religious ceremonies besides kirtan ,bhajan will be held. From November 11 to November 13 there would be Dnyaneshwar  Sar  programme from Ramesh Sapre, while  from November 14 to November 16 there would be kirtan , bhajan  and other religious ceremonies. 

On November 18 Dindi  Deepotsav programme will be organised  in the evening at 6.30 pm. The committee has requested devotees to  follow the SOP and cooperate with the organiser.
