PANJIM: Counting in the two LS constituencies in Goa will start at 8 am on May 16.
Postal ballots would be counted, first. After, a gap of 30 minutes, the control units of the EVMs would be opened. The counting for 01-North Goa Parliamentary Constituency will be held at Bal Bhavan, Panjim, while counting at the 02-South Goa Parliamentary Constituency will be held at Damodar College of Commerce and Economics and Kare College, both located at Margao.
Counting observers would be deployed in North Goa Counting centre and South Goa Counting Centre to oversee the entire counting process. Counting supervisors, Assistants and Micro observers, persons authorized by the Election Commission, officials connected with election and candidates and their agents alone would be allowed to enter the counting hall.
Media centres will be set up at the counting centres for media persons. However, media groups in small manageable numbers will be escorted by the media officers to visit the counting halls.
Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets have been banned on the counting premises. The data will be transferred through Genesys software to transmit results to EC. The entire counting process would be videographed.
At North Goa counting centre there will be six counting halls comprising 75 tables and South Goa Counting centre there will be 10 counting halls comprising 101 tables. The sequence of counting has been approved by the EC, according to a press note issued here.
