PANJIM: The second list of candidates announced by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for ensuing Lok Sabha polls does not figure name of the candidate for the South Goa Parliamentary seat.
The BJP released its second list of 72 candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday.

The name of five-time MP Shripad Naik was announced in the first list of 195 candidates declared by the party last week.
Naik will contest from his traditional North Goa Parliamentary constituency.
The BJP has shortlisted the names of three candidates for the South Goa seat.
They are former MP Adv Narendra Sawaikar, former Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakanat ‘Babu’ Kavalekar and former MLA Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik. These names have been forwarded to the BJP Parliamentary Board.
The party was also in the process of shortlisting name of women candidates for the seat even as Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to declare the poll schedule.
