PONDA: A truck driver and cleaner on Thursday escaped with minor injuries after their vehicle fell on its side while negotiating the sharp turn at the accident-prone GVM Circle at Farmagudi. The driver, who was proceeding from Mapusa to Margao via Ponda, said he lost control of the truck while negotiating the sharp turn on the slope.
It is pertinent to note that Bandora locals have been demanding that the width of accident-prone GVM Circle be reduced as several accidents have occurred at the spot. The heavy vehicles proceeding from Panjim to Margao find it difficult to negotiate the sharp turn at the circle. However, the locals have complained that the circle design is faulty.
