Lucky escape for railway employees

About 20 railway employees undertaking track extension and other maintenance work near Cansaulim had a lucky escape on Friday evening, when a large boulder came crashing on the South Western Railway track barely 10 metres from them.
The incident also disrupted local rail traffic between Vasco and Collem for nearly four hours. According to Vasco Railway ASI Samarnath Passi, a local train that left Vasco railway station was stranded for nearly two-and-half hours near Sancoale, while a Collem-Vasco train was delayed by nearly three-and-half hours. The boulder was removed from the tracks later in the evening and rail traffic was restored along the route.
